Innovative short film set to music filmed entirely on location in Antigua & Barbuda. The Soucouyant is a collaborative effort between Miami rock band CREEPSCIENCE and Caribbean-based Elite Island Studios. This video invokes the legend of the Soucouyant, a Caribbean vampire tale. Shot in black and white and featuring non-traditional Caribbean film locations, The Soucouyant is a cautionary tale for wayward souls who fin themselves shipwrecked far from home. Recently highlighted in Fangoria Magazine, The Soucouyant is the first and only horror-based music video featuring Caribbean talent and Miami rock. When a social worker named Craig visits her home, he finds himself trapped in a twisted domestic nightmare where mannequins breathe, tea is laced with secrets, and reality warps into madness. As Craig uncovers the truth behind Jessica’s isolated upbringing and her sinister family rituals, he becomes the unwilling guest of honor in a grotesque ceremony of control, transformation, and found family. Blending psychological tension with visceral horror, the film explores themes of indoctrination, manipulation, and the terrifying power of innocence gone wrong.

Diller McCasslin, a single father and hotel security officer, finds his sense of control slipping when he encounters something he cannot explain—a talking bear working at a fast-food restaurant. While others, including his teenage daughter Shelly, seem to accept this reality without concern, Diller becomes increasingly fixated on the threat he believes the bear represents.
As his anxiety grows, Diller searches for answers, turning to coworkers, the internet, and ultimately to a misguided plan to eliminate the source of his fear. His attempts to assert control begin to fracture his relationship with Shelly, revealing deeper tensions rooted in grief and loss.
When Diller is finally forced to confront the consequences of his fear, the boundaries between reality and psychological projection begin to collapse, leading him toward an unsettling recognition of what he is truly trying to protect—and what he may be destroying in the process. Together they reveal the truth: she once killed a child and hid the body, and these are the ghosts of her stolen future. Tormented by the ghosts and hunted by sewn-mouthed revenants, Myra is forced into the same fridge where she once left her victim to die. And the ‘mechanic’, who locks her in the fridge, turns out to be the brother of the girl Myra killed. A girl whose revenge is still incomplete.

“Orchards” was written by Matthew Derby, whose credits include the feature film Gone in the Night starring Winona Ryder, and the audio dramas Harley Quinn & The Joker: Sound Mind, featuring Christina Ricci and Billy Magnussen, and Sandra, featuring Ethan Hawke and Kristen Wiig.
The short was shot on location at the site of an abandoned Cold War-era military base in Northeastern Montana. The cast camped in the ambulance bay of the base’s hospital for the duration of the shoot. The film was partially funded with a grant from the Montana Film Office. Click here for Trailer.
